Financial Policy
Payment is due for services not covered by insurance at the time services are rendered; this includes all co-payments and deductibles. Because we may not know the actual charges prior to the service, we may ask you to pay an estimated amount. During your visit, your provider may order various lab tests, x-rays and procedures that may be in addition or instead of any estimate given. Payment is accepted in the form of cash, personal check, money order, and MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover (credit or debit). Established patients with health insurance coverage may defer payment up to 60 days for services covered under their health insurance policy. As a courtesy to our patients, and to facilitate prompt payments, Reedsburg Physicians Group will prepare and file insurance claims for services rendered. To assure rapid resolution of an insurance claim it is vital that we have accurate and up-to-date information. It is the responsibility of the patient to supply this information at each visit. A health insurance policy is a contract between the policyholder and the insurance carrier. It does not relieve the patient of financial responsibility for services provided. Our fees are not always the same as the amounts reimbursed by the insurance company. While Reedsburg Physicians Group will assist patients in settling disputed claims, it cannot accept responsibility for claims that remain unpaid. The patient is responsible for ensuring that payment of all charges and balances is made in full. Exception to this policy exists when prohibited by contractual agreements. If you are an established patient and do not have insurance, or you have difficulty paying a balance after insurance, a patient accounts representative will gladly help you arrange a reasonable payment plan. These plans may be adjusted from time to time to reflect an increase in an account balance. If you do not take action to satisfy a financial obligation to Reedsburg Physicians Group, the account may be referred to an outside collection agency. If a collection agency or legal remedy is required to resolve the debt, cash in advance of service may be required at future non-urgent visits for charges not covered by insurance.
